| | Isaac Burkett Signed by the Nashua Pride • Mon Jun 30 | Former Rivier College and Chelmsford Merchant standout Isaac Burkett has signed a professional contract with the Nashua Pride of the Canadian-American League.
Burkett, a native of Nashua, NH just finished his senior season at Rivier, compiling a 5 – 4 record with 88 strikeouts in 67 innings pitched, which was ranked 4th in the nation. He was also ranked 12th in the nation in strikeouts and 45th in ERA.
He finished his career with a 16 – 9 record with 164 K’s. He was a 2-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year, and appeared on the 2008 All Conference team. Burkett also holds the Rivier record in appearances, wins, strikeouts, and innings pitched.
Before signing with the Pride, Burkett appeared in 3 games for the Chelmsford Merchants going 1 – 1 with 21 IP, 3 ER, 22 K’s, and a 1.00 ERA.
Burkett is the first Rivier College player to go pro and the 2nd player from the Chelmsford Merchants.
